This one. Nr 74. I mentioned it back here. Now I've had time to read it through, I come to share ideas and thoughts about it.

More than any other quilting magazine I've read, this one talks about quilting shows and the inspiration that the quilts provide. They discuss particular quilts, almost on the level that I've only heard applied in art school or galleries before. I guess it's fitting as some of these quilts easily come under the word 'art'. It is an enjoyable read, even if some of the words [being of Maori origin] give me pause on how to pronounce! This quilted wallhanging was exhibited at the Birmingham (UK) Festival of Quilts.

Wonderful, no? Made of NZ fabrics given by the maker's friends. What fun that must have been!

This quilt

caught my eye, as I said previously. I have set aside some fabric from the current hand piecing project to make a couple of these leaf blocks.

There were fewer projects in this magazine than the american ones I was used to, and since is the only one I have seen 'in the flesh', I have no idea if this is usual. There was so much interest in the magazine that an apparent lack of projects did not seem so. The projects are very interesting. These caught my eye particularly.

And then, in the ads at the back, this piece of wonder.

It's for 'the old sew and sew' shop on King Street in Pukehoke. [What a fabulous name!] Pity there is no website. That quilt I should love to see in more detail.
